As a freelance Cinematographer, I have been been fortunate enough not to be based out of Salt Lake City, Utah –as Teton Gravity Research already has the best ski films on the market. Since graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), I have been based in the heart of Kansas City, filming regional productions and serving multinational clients’ interests, while my wife, Stephanie, completes her dental degree at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. While attending SCAD, I was privileged to enlist in the the Army National Guard –to serve my fellow citizens as well as help pay for my education– and I am now a 1st Lieutenant in an Engineering Battalion in Missouri and will begin my first tour of duty in Afghanistan in July 2009. I have been offered the opportunity to work as the Public Affairs officer while I am an expatriate, in consequence of my experience in the film environment, and I am looking forward to utilizing this unique opportunity in order to capture the true nature of the environment I will be placed in. I will be in Afghanistan for over a year and apart from my home, but I hope you will take the opportunity to experience what I experience, and see what I see, through the substance of my experiences and the eye of my camera. I will be regularly updating this website –with regular blog postings– throughout my travels. You are welcome, and of course free, to comment and interact on anything concerning my videography. I look for nothing other than that my experiences might make me a better person, giving inspiration to me as a Cinematographer, which is why I look forward to the future with excitement and anticipation rather than with any dread or skepticism.
